"Human condition" at the ABC Museum
My illustration "Human Condition" has been finalist in the 1st Press Illustration Contest of the ABC Museum.
This illustration came from watching the news: Donald Trump (and his controversial wall with Mexico) won the elections on the same day as the anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Some tear down walls, others build them.
What I like most about this illustration is that it started with these very concrete concepts, but then moved on to something much more universal. Practically the whole world could identify with one of the two positions. I would even go so far as to say that all of us sometimes put up our walls one day, and on other days we break them down. And I don't even see it as a positive or negative thing anymore. One day our fears ask us for protection, another day our boredom asks us to step over our limitations. Ah, the human condition...
